Dear Athletes,

After tragic events happened in Indonesia in the year 2002 and resulting travel warning issued
by some countries, the organizing committee finally decided not to stage the ASAHAN
WHITEWATER FESTIVAL in the year 2002. However, we are very happy to announce that this
year the event ' INDONESIA 2003 - ASAHAN WHITEWATER FESTIVAL ' will be staged again, from
: 11th - 16nd October 2003. The location is the same as it was in the years 2000 and 2001 : The
Village Of Tangga In The Asahan Regency Of North Sumatra Province / Indonesia (INA) There
will be race formats for INTERNATIONAL WHITEWATER RAFTING teams and as well an open race
for INTERNATIONAL KAYAKERS ( referred to as PRO ELITE KAYAK RACE ). Again there is an
interesting pricemoney to win, all together more than 15.500 US $ !!! Further we have received
special reduced airfares from GARUDA INDONESIA, the national airline of Indonesia, that You will
see in a separate information. Here with we would appreciate to see Your participation at the
biggest whitewater event in South East Asia and would love to welcome You for a rewarding trip
to the adventurous island of Sumatra.

plus ça va, plus il y a de messages de "pub" pour des festivals etrangers... il va bientot falloir installer un traducteur automatique sur les pages de EVO...!

Je ramène ça sur le devant, car j'ai un peu la bougeotte et je me demande si je vais pas me prendre un billet... et comme plus on est de fous, plus on rit...

La dernière fois que j'y étais en 2000, j'avais rencontré d'autres français sur place. Alors plutôt que de se trouver là-bas, si jamais il y a d'autres intéressés, qu'ils me fassent signe avant de partir. Pour donner un ordre d'idée, il y a des billets dans les 700/750 euros Lyon/Singapour, j'attends les tarifs de la connection vers Sumatra.

Nous étions passé par Kuala Lumpur en 2001 pour aller jusqu'à Medan,
environ 5500 f à l'époque, payé par le gouvernement Indonesien (ca se fait plus je crois !)...
En plus, le price money (dans le contexte du pays, c'est incomprehensible)
couvre tous les frais !

Oui, c'était mon cas aussi en 2000, Thai Airways avait offert quelques billets d'avion ; ça n'a pas l'air d'être le cas cette année, en tout cas ça n'est pas précisé sur leur site, ils parlent simplement de la connection, singapour/medan ; j'attends une réponse par email.
