Je fais suivre une lettre prise sur l'excellent site de Campbell Walsh...
Il est vrai que par le passé,nos camarades allemands n'étaient pas très "fair play", quant à l'utilisation de leur bassin...
mais il semblerait qu'ils aient besoin de nous aujourd'hui...
A chacun de faire ce que bon lui semble, pour adhérer ou non à cette pétition.

Save Augsburg !!!!!
The following is a letter from Horst Woppowa, the cheif at Kanu Schwaben Augsburg, one of the clubs based at the Augsburg canoe slalom course. The Augsburg course hosted the 1972 Olympics, 1985 World Champs, 2003 World Champs and currently hosts World Cup events almost every season. Proposed changes to the hydroelectric system at Augsburg could seriously affect one of the best training and race courses in the world.

Dear friends in wildwater canoeing & rafting,
Finaly the rumours have been proven to be real. The city of Augsburg plans to build a hydroproject in the existing dam across the river Lech, top of the Eiskanal.
What does this mean?
The waters of the river run eighter through the turbines to generate electricity or down the lower part of the Eiskanal.
What's gonna be the result of this?
The Olympic course only will be flooded to a certain time schedule for athletic training and competition. Free training any time like until now will be impossible then. The leisure & fun canoeing sport plus rodeo training will be down to almost zero.
The aera of come and go to paddle down the course will belong to the past.
There will be the first hearing at the Augsburg city council, department of conservation, at 7th of December 2005. Please help us to prevent this construction.
